Are you drinking enough water, especially with the cooler weather upon us?

We often think to hydrate during the summer months but fall and winter are just as important.  We probably have to remind ourselves even more during the cooler months because we may not think we need it as much.  Did you know that about 60% of your body is water?  If you have just a 2% body weight loss of fluid, it can impair your performance by as much as 20%.  That's quite a bit of impairment for such a small percentage.
The great thing is that water is cheap, readily available and easily accessible.  If you are just an average Jane and not an athlete, then your baseline needs are at least 6-8 cups a day.  Since we live in a higher climate area then you could add more water to your day.
Hydration tips provided by Carmichael Training Systems and Eucerin SkinFirst Express
  1. Drink decaffeinated beverages.
  2. Your urine should be clear
  3. Drink small amounts over the course of the day as your body can only absorb small amounts at a time
  4. Remember - What you do on Thursday directly affects Saturday! (the day before the day before is the most important day for sleep, nutrition and hydration)
